NRCD MINI BIKE KIT

The Mini Race Bike is NRCD's most popular kit — and it's not hard to see why. This is a fully race-proven design, developed and refined on New Zealand racetracks, built to the same spec as the machines competing at the national circuit level.

 

Students build the entire machine from the frame up:

Engine installation, drivetrain assembly, brake setup, and chassis geometry.

 

When the build is done, they don't put it on a shelf — they ride it. Available with a 49cc RSA115 full race spec petrol engine or an 800W electric drivetrain, the Mini Race Bike gives schools the flexibility to match the build to their curriculum focus — combustion engineering or electric vehicle systems, both covered in depth.

 

Pre-built frame options are available for schools that want to focus classroom time on the mechanical systems rather than fabrication.

Torque specifications, measuring tools, assembly sequences, fault diagnosis, and workshop safety — the full repertoire of practical engineering skills, applied to a real machine.

Workshop Practice

Students read and interpret industry-standard CAD drawings throughout the build, developing the technical literacy that underpins all engineering trades.

CAD & Technical Documentation

Working from the CAD file, students learn how frame geometry affects handling, where structural loads concentrate, and how to fabricate or assemble a chassis to engineering tolerances.

Chassis & Geometry

Students install, set up, and tune either a 49cc RSA115 two-stroke petrol engine or an 800W electric motor — covering fuel systems, ignition timing, chain drive, and final gear ratios (petrol) or motor controllers, battery management, and power delivery (electric).
